Digitization project “Ernst Krenek lectures online: the music theory lectures of an exiled Austrian” launched on August 1, 2023

Ernst Krenek was not only a composer but also reflected on music theoretically.

The project will make available online a curated selection of Krenek’s manuscripts and typoscripts to some of his lectures, speeches, and radio features, which are kept in the archive of the Ernst-Krenek-Institute-Private-Foundation. These will be contextualized by adding historical and biographical information, and searchable transcriptions will be attached.

Duration: August 1, 2023, to July 31, 2024
 
The project was selected for the program “Kulturerbe digital” by the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport (BMKÖS).
