Secretary General (m/f/d) / full-time position

The Ernst-Krenek-Institute-Private Foundation, together with its subsidiary, Ernst Krenek Forum Betriebsges.m.b.H., is responsible for preserving and promoting the work and legacy of Ernst Krenek and has been a renowned cultural institution for more than 20 years. We are looking for a committed cultural manager who, in consultation with the board of the private foundation, will take on and implement these tasks.

 

General Requirements:

  • Completed university education (university or other academic institution
  • Profound knowledge in the field of music, law and economy
  • Several years of relevant professional experience in management (advantageous in the area of private foundations)
  • Knowledge of the Austrian funding system and EU-supported funding instruments, as well as experience in the area of third-party funding
  • National and international contacts, preferably networks in the arts and science communities and in the field of classical music
  • Willingness to take over the management of the subsidiary Ernst Krenek Forum Betriebsges.m.b.H.
  • Fluent in German and English, knowledge of other foreign languages is an advantage

 

 

Tasks:

  • Management and strategic development of the Ernst Krenek institutions and their employees in accordance with the foundation's purpose and in consultation with the board
  • Independent planning, organization, and implementation of concerts, lectures, conferences, exhibitions and similar events (legally, economically, and organizationally)
  • Addressing and supporting creative artists worldwide
  • General management tasks, in particular communication and support for internal and external stakeholders, optimization of internal work processes, establishment of efficient corporate governance structures and efficient management and economical administration of the institutions
  • Public relations and representation (“public face”)

 

 

Personal requirements:

  • High level of commitment and strong creative drive; willingness to work flexible hours, occasionally in the evenings and on weekends
  • Personal affinity for classical contemporary music
  • Personal integrity and high ethical standards


 

Location: Krems an der Donau; partial remote work negotiable

Gross annual salary: EUR 70,000 (all-in contract); bonuses negotiable
