Installation „Mirror – Ernst Krenek“

Covid-19 project grant

With his project submission "Mirror - Ernst Krenek" the artist and filmmaker Ernst Spiessberger was selected for the Covid-19 project grant "Ernst-Fall" of the Ernst Krenek Institute Private Foundation.

Now his installation can be seen at the Ernst Krenek Forum on Minoritenplatz in Krems / Stein. The work consists of a bust of Ernst Krenek that watches an animated mirror image in a monitor. The film features Ernst Krenek's widow, Gladys N. Krenek, and the composer himself. The selected text passages are intended to inspire the viewer to reflect on philosophical-existential questions.

Ernst Spiessberger was born in 1967 in Gmunden and lives and works in Vienna and Gmunden. After training as a carpenter and carer for the disabled, he studied sculpture and transmedia space at the University of Art in Linz and scenography at the Academy of Film and Television in Potsdam Babelsberg. Since 2008 he is head of the film production Zitronenwasser FILM

Visit the new installation (again from December 6, 2020) from Tuesday to Sunday (and Monday if it is a holiday) from 10:00 to 17:00
